A School BOO!

This weeks project was a "Boo" basket or container to give to a neighbor.  I live in what we call the "sticks" in rural Pennsylvania.  Since we don't have a "neighborhood" I decided to create a neighborhood.  Schools are always looking for supplies and things for the classroom so I thought it would be a wonderful idea for my son's classroom.  All the classes could participate and gift things to the other classes.

Some things you could include, on a budget, can be found a dollar store.  For example:

• Hand Sanitizer
• Facial Tissue
• Markers
• Pens
• Crayons
• Pencils
• Erasers
• Notebook Paper
• and so on

So for my project I created a luminary bag (you can use battery operated candles for safety) and filled it with a treat and classroom items (not all shown!).

Challenge each class to make a bag to share with the next class.  At the end of the Boo share each class will have a bag.  What a great decoration for the auditorium stage, office or sidewalk!

To make the bag, you can use either regular lunch bags or special luminary bags from a craft store.  I used Happy Hauntings for the font used on the "BOO" and the spider.

For the treats, I purchased bags from Stampin Up and filled them with M&Ms.  The topper is a 1.5" x 3" piece of red cardstock, folded in half and punched with the Martha Stewart Drippy Goo punch.  The bat is also from Happy Hauntings and has red eyes from Distress Stickles in Fired Brick.

The door hanger is made from Locker Talk.  I ran the top layer through my cuttlebug using the Tim Holtz dots folder.  The boo is cut from the Happy Hauntings cartridge in orange and shadowed in black.  The ghost is also from Happy Hauntings.  I sprayed the entire thing with Diamond Glimmer mist and finished with a piece of black ribbon.  The tag can be hung on the door of each class so they know they were BOO'd!
