Where has the past 2 weeks gone? Between PTO, baseball games and general spring household to do lists, the last 2 weeks has flown by! I can't believe we are alread in May.
This cycle is all about Mom. With Mothers day quickly approaching, I have created this card using just RGB codes on the Imagine. Actually, I just went through cartridges until I found a color palette that worked for me.
The background is a gentle shade of pink and embossed with a Stampin Up embossing folder. The scallop is in a coordinating blue and the center an off white. I edged the circle with a bit of Tattered Rose distress ink and used dimentional adhesive to pop it up off the scallop circle.
The portrait is from the Heritage Cricut cartridge and printed in black. I used some small cream pearls to create a necklace.
To finish it off I used some Stampin Up Crochet trim and did a loose knot.
I hope you enjoyed my simple but elegant card for this week.

Recycle for Earth Day - Create a Planter
This cycle of projects is to celebrate Earth Day by recycling. For my project I also incorporated a lesson in gardening for my little one. We have a garden and grow our own veggies every year. This year we expanded and planted asparagus and strawberries. They won't produce until next year but it's going to be worth the wait! I like to have my kids learn where their food comes from, and see how much work it really is.
I started with a Blue Bunny ice cream container. These are nice because they are plastic and can withstand some water. I highly recommend the flavor too....it's so yummy!
I used some of my "test" prints from my Imagine to cover the outside. I knew a full piece wouldn't fit all the way around so I pieced it in panels. The side, pink panels I ran through my cuttlebug with the bird on vine folder. I added the ribbon around the top of the container. It has a ridge around it where the lid rests and I just needed something. The bow I tied on it's own and added with a glue dot.
We planted the Mammoth sunflowers in this container. We aren't supposed to plant these outside until May. I figured I would get them started and transplant them next month when the weather is warmer. Although we are getting some pretty cold nights here in PA. I don't think the weatherman got the IT'S SPRING MEMO!
Before adding the dirt to the container, I added some small-medium size rocks to the container for drainage. Yes I took a picture of rocks, LOL! It is important for container planting.
The butterflies on the front are from a K&Co. pack I got years ago and they matched perfectly. Don't you just love when that happens?!?
For the paper flowers, they are from Stretch your Imagination and the only thing I did cut specifically for this project. I used Enjoy the Seasons Imagine cartridge for the colors and pattern. I couldn't find my dowl rod I had to put these on so I used some old paintbrushes. Just taped the flowers to the brush and stuck them in the dirt. It's just reminder of what we are growing.
In about 7-10 days we should see some little plants forming. It's going to be exciting!
Thanks for joining me and be on the lookout next week for some more great recycling projects!

Easter Egg Hunt - Scrapbook Layout
Hi everyone! Hope you have been enjoying the great work of our design team. They come up with the best ideas!
This week I decided to scrap some of my Easter pictures. I'm a bit behind, ok 2 years or better behind, but I'm getting them done! Slowly!
This layout uses patterns from the Blossom cartridge and images from Art Philosopy and the font on A Child's Year.
I am not happy with the scallop cuts on my Imagine so I placed them on my background paper in Craft Room. I used ovals to represent "eggs" and colored them in soft pastel Easter colors. The edges were inked with vintage photo distress ink to give it a little pop.
The letters are cut from A Child's Year in black and glued to the "eggs". I then ran them through the Stampin Up Square Lattice folder and popped them up with dimentional adhesive.
The "Egg hunt" is done as one image. You can find the directions on my blog for this technique. I added a 2 piece grommet to each side and ran a piece of ribbon throught it and around the bottom of the page. Ribbon is from Papertrey Ink.
I am going to have to reprint my pictures. I ran out of ink in my printer and they look horrible, but you can see my plan for the pictures.
My son discovers, picks up the eggs, his brother helps him and then the HAUL! And what a haul! Elmo is over full. I had so many pictures it was hard to pick just a few. Guess I'll be making a mirror page.
Hope you enjoyed and see you next time.

Book Review - Colour Index
This short video is a review of a book I had purchased to help with RGB codes and my Imagine. Since the Imagine screen and what is printed are worlds apart, this book really helped getting the actual color and giving me the RGB code to use.

Finish it Friday - Sports Wall Hanging
I had this project and pieces together just not done. The base of it is a chipboard license plate I got at a scrapbook show last year.
One side will be for football and the other baseball. Then when the season comes around, my son can change it from one to the other.
The video is short and I appologize for the bad lighting. It was dark when I filmed.
And I'm sort of sick again. I started Zumba at our local VFW. They don't use the building much and since it's closed up it smells musty and moldy. I'm really allergic to mold and I think it triggered some allergic reaction. And to think I slid past all the sickness in my house!

DT Project - Kiss Me I'm Irish Pin
This is my DT Project for Creative Critters Imagination.
For today's project I used the new digital St. Patricks Day image set available under Craft Room Exclusives on cricut.com/shop.
Size the pin to your liking and color accordingly. For the banner I used a pattern from the Enjoy the Seasons cartridge.
The pin itself is colored and cut as one image. This video will guide you through how to layer an image with all it's pieces and cut as one piece. It works great for those tiny pieces like you get in the Disney cartridges.
The video demonstrates the Goofy character but applies to any layered image.
The shamrock is glittered. I used Stampin Up heat n stick to apply the glitter. It keeps the glitter from coming off once set. This stuff is WONDERFUL! Glitter is Martha Stewart and has green and gold in it.
I cut an oval from craft room basics and sized it approximately the same as the image. It is cut from cereal box and used for stability of the pin.
I added a pin back to the image with liquid adhesive.
Thanks for joining me today.

Finish it Friday Project
This week I'm going to be posting my finish it Friday post on Saturday. This is my week to do my project for the Creative Critters Imagination design team. I don't like posting 2 project videos on the same day, sometimes they get missed. And I don't want you guys to miss anything.
So stay tuned on Saturday for that post.
